Sagamore Hills — The township has a new logo, created by Trustee John Zaccardelli, receptionist Laura Steimle and administrative assistant Joanne Taylor.

“We are really proud of it,” Zaccardelli said on Aug. 13. The idea for the project began last fall after the township revamped its website.

“We decided the logo didn’t fit anymore,” Zaccardelli said. “We wanted to make Sagamore Hills to have more of an idenity — when people look at this down the road they will say ‘This is home,'” he said.

The township worked with Media Blast Studios, a local design company, to create what they felt was a accurate depiction of the township and included key images such as the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Brandywine Falls, the scenic valley railroad, Sagamore Hills Park and the Toute 82 bridge.

“It’s a beautiful bridge,” he said. “If you go there on a Saturday morning– you can see the reflection in the water.”

That’s the kind of imagery Zaccardelli and the project team wished to reflect in the logo for residents. The project took about two and a half months to complete.

The logo had its official unveiling at a July 14 meeting when long-time Trustee Rose Mary Snell was recognized for her service to the township.

How much does a website cost to make?

Having a website is critical to the success of any big business or startup. But how much does a website cost to build?

While brand new domain names are fairly cheap, between $10 to $15 bucks, most of the names you’re likely to think of have been taken when it comes to the popular extensions like a .com or .net. However, you can buy older aged domains, typically ranging from hundreds to millions of dollars, depending on the traffic.

Once you’re ready to launch a new domain, you need to find a suitable Web hosting plan which, depending on the goals of your application, could range from as little as $4/month to over a thousand. Small blogs can usually get away with using cheaper shared servers or virtual private servers (VPS), while larger sites and enterprise applications use powerful dedicated servers in combination with cloud technology.

Overall, the greatest cost of a website upfront is in the design and development. Here are a few great Web design blogs that could help you put together a site for free. But if you’re not the DIY type or an experienced Web developer, you may want to hire a professional Web design firm.
